This stream focuses on nominating immigrants who have job offers from public health authorities in BC and who are poised to make significant and long-term contributions to the healthcare labor sector.

Program Eligibility

Requirement

Express Entry Profile –         Need not required to be registered under an Express Entry program.

–         May be able to apply to this stream through Express Entry, if they are eligible for this stream.

Job Offer –         Have a valid job offer for full-time and indeterminate employment from British Columbia public health authority as a health care professional –

o   Physician

o   Nurse practitioner

o   Midwife in BC.

–         Meet the education, training, experience and qualification as required by the public health authority.

–         Have their job in any occupation, at any NOC TEER category, with ABC public health authority.

–         To apply under Express Entry to BC option have a valid IRCC Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code with their occupation under NOC TEER 0,1,2 or 3

–         Need not have their job offer supported by a LMIA.

Level of Education –         Have the education necessary to effectively carry out the duties associated with the job.
Work Experience –         Have the qualifications necessary to effectively carry out the duties associated with the job.
Language Proficiency –         Have a language proficiency in English or French as per the below:

a)      For job offer at NOC TEER 2,3,4 or 5 – CLB 4 or higher.

b)     For job offers at NOC TEER 0 or 1 – Exempted (However you may score points for this)

Settlement Funds –         Meet the settlement funds requirement set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

–         Can be demonstrated through personal financial resources or by holding a valid offer of employment.

Connection to Province –         At the time of applying, not specifically required.

–         Intention to live and work in BC is must

Employer Requirements –         Have their business be well-established and in good standing in British Columbia, in operation in BC for at least 1 year.

–         Have their business meet the employees requirements:

Inside Vancouver            : Minimum 5 full-time employees.

Outside Vancouver         : Minimum 3 full-time employees.

–         Demonstrate that they made genuine efforts to recruit a Canadian candidate for a job position before extending the offer to the foreign candidates.

–         Need not require to obtain a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to validate their job positions.

Application Procedure

  • Eligibility and Application: Candidates apply online through BC’s immigration portal, choosing either Express Entry or Skills Immigration.
  • Application Fee: Applicant needs to pay the fee as required.
  • Provincial Nomination: If approved, candidates receive a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
  • Temporary Work Permit: They can request a letter of support for a work permit.
  • Express Entry Route: For Express Entry applicants, a 600-point CRS boost ensures an ITA for permanent residence.
  • Permanent Residence Application: Permanent residence applications through Express Entry.
