The Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry stream is designed for individuals who have prior work experience in Nova Scotia and are interested in obtaining Canadian Permanent Residency through the Express Entry system:

Express Entry Profile | Applicants must be enrolled in the Federal Express Entry pool.
They must qualify for at least one of the three federal economic programs:
– Federal Skilled Worker (FSW): Candidate must:
o Have a high school diploma, at minimum
o Have at least 1 year of continuous full-time, skilled work experience, obtained in a position at National Occupations Classification (NOC) TEER Skill categories 0,1,2 or 3 (previously NOC Level 0, A or B), obtained within the last 10 Years in Canada or overseas.
o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 7.
– Canadian Experience Class (CEC): Candidate must:
o Not have minimum education requirement.
o Have at least 1 year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada.
o Have their work experience be within the 3 years before application, and it does not need to be continuous, obtained within 3 years prior to application, obtained in a position at National Occupations Classification (NOC) TEER Skill Category 0,1,2 or 3 (Previously NOC Level 0, A or B).
o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 7 for work experience obtained at NOC TEER Skill 0 or 1 (Previously NOC Level 0 or A).
o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 5 for work experience obtained at NOC TEER Skill 2 or 3 (Previously Level B).
– Federal Skilled Trades (FST): Candidate must:
o Not have minimum education requirement.
o Have at least 2 years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade occupation with in the last 5 years.
o Have either an offer of an employment to work in a skill trade in Canada or a certification of qualification in their skill trade issued by a Canadian authority.
o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 5 for speaking and listening, (CLB) Level 4 for reading and writing. |
Age | – Be between the age of 21 to 55 Years |
Job Offer | – Need not require a job offer to apply under this category. |
Level of Education | – Have a Canadian High School credential or equivalent. |
Work Experience | – Have at least 12 months of full-time job experience (or equivalent part-time) acquired while employed by a Nova Scotian employer.
– Be at National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER Level 0,1,2 or 3
– In the last 3 years. |
Language Proficiency | – Demonstrate valid language test score at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 or higher, if work experience in Nova Scotia obtained in NOC Skill Level O, A or B.
– Demonstrate valid language test score at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5 or higher, if work experience in Nova Scotia obtained in NOC Skill Level B |
Connection to Province | – Demonstrate connection to Nova Scotia with their work experience obtained in Nova Scotia. |
Application Procedure:
- Apply anytime via Nova Scotia’s online portal if you meet the qualifications.
- Successful applicants gain 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, virtually ensuring an ITA for Canadian permanent residence.
- After receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), applicants have 90 days to submit their permanent residence application.
