Express Entry Profile | Applicants must be enrolled in the federal Express Entry pool.
They must qualify for at least one of the three federal economic programs: – Federal Skilled Worker (FSW): Candidate must: o Have a high school diploma, at minimum o Have at least 1 year of continuous full-time, skilled work experience, obtained in a position at TEER 0,1,2 or 3 (Previously National Occupations Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A or B) o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 7. – Canadian Experience Class (CEC): Candidate must: o Not have minimum education requirement. o Have at least 1 year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada. o Have their work experience be within the 3 years before application, and it does not need to be continuous, obtained within 3 years prior to application, obtained in a position at TEER 0,1,2 or 3 (Previously National Occupations Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A or B) o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 7 for work experience obtained at TEER 0,1 or 2 (Previously NOC Skill Level 0 or A) o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 5 for work experience obtained at TEER 3 (Previously NOC Skill Level B) – Federal Skilled Trades (FST): Candidate must: o Not have minimum education requirement. o Have at least 2 years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade occupation o Have either an offer of an employment to work in a skill trade in Canada or a certification of qualification in their skill trade issued by a Canadian authority. o Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 5 for speaking and listening, (CLB) Level 4 for reading and writing. |
Job Offer | – Have a full-time, permanent job offer from Yukon employer that meets the program’s requirements.
– Have their position in the National Occupation Classification (NOC) TEER 0,1,2 or 3 categories. |
Level of Education | – Have their educational credential as the required respective categories of the Express Entry program. |
Work Experience | – Have their work experience as the required respective categories of the Express Entry program. |
Language Proficiency | – Have their language proficiency as the required respective categories of the Express Entry program. |
Connection to Province | – Need not require any specific connection to Yukon |
Settlement Funds Requirement | – Meet the settlement funds criteria set by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). |
Employer’s Business Requirement | – Have their business in operation for at least 1 year in Yukon.
– Have their business in operation for at least 3 Years, in case of a Non-profit organizations, and have secured funding for minimum 1 year following the application. – Demonstrate that reasonable efforts were made to hire a Canadian for the position before offering it to a foreign national. |
Application Procedure
- Candidates create an Express Entry profile, expressing interest in the Yukon Express Entry stream.
- Candidate and employer provide valid employment offer meeting program requirements, with proof of eligibility.
- Upon acceptance, Yukon nominates the candidate to submit a permanent residency application. A support letter for a temporary work permit is provided for the candidate to apply to IRCC separately.
- The candidate accepts Yukon’s nomination on their Express Entry profile, boosting their CRS score by 600 points.
- After receiving an ITA, the candidate prepares and submits the official application for Canadian permanent residency, typically processed within six months.
