The Skilled Worker Stream aims to provide opportunity for the skilled foreign national who are offered employment in the Yukon territory of Canada who wish to nominated for permanent residence.
Program Eligibility

| Express Entry Profile | – Need not required to be registered under the Federal Express Entry program |
| Job Offer | – Have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Yukon employer.
– Have their job offer be at a position TEER 0,1,2 or 3 (Previously National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, or B). |
| Level of Education | – Have the equivalent to at least a Canadian high school. |
| Work Experience | TEER 0,1,2 or 3 1 year- Have a minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience in a position similar to the job offered by the Yukon Employer. |
| Language Proficiency | – Demonstrate language proficiency in English or French for a position at:
TEER 0 or 1 – Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher. TEER 2 or 3 – Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 or higher. |
| Connection to Province | – Need not require any specific connection to BC |
| Employer’s Business Requirement | o Offer a full-time, indeterminate job offer with a competitive wages meeting industry standards.
o Have their business in operation for at least 1 year in Yukon, at least 3 Years, in case of a Non-profit organizations. o Have secured funding for minimum 1 year following the application. o Demonstrate that reasonable efforts were made to hire a Canadian for the position before offering it to a foreign national. |
Application Procedure
- Eligible applicants and Yukon companies collaborate for a comprehensive application.
- Employer submits the provincial nomination application, and upon acceptance, Yukon nominates the applicant.
- Yukon provides a support letter for a temporary work permit. The applicant applies to IRCC for a temporary work visa using this letter.
- After provincial nomination, the candidate has six months to submit a federal application for Canadian permanent residency.
